Geneva School District 304 teachers and administrators will meet again Friday after a Thursday night bargaining session failed to produce a contract deal.
Friday marks the fourth day of the Geneva Education Association’s strike.
A spokesperson for the Geneva Education Association said progress was made during Thursday’s bargaining session. The two sides will meet again at 6:30 p.m., the district said in a news release.
Both side are close in terms of pay increases. The chief sticking point is the pay structure, which the district wants to alter from the traditional steps-and-lanes setup that’s been in place, officials said.
Contract negotiations began in February; the current contract expired in August.
The district has 405 teachers and a student enrollment of about 5,800.
