JEFFERSON CO., Ala. (WBRC) – Some Jefferson County School employees are getting a one-time $500 supplement.

School board employees said they approved the resolution for the additional services JEFCOED employees will provide during the 2020-2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All full-time active employees will receive a one-time supplement of $500 each.

The School Board also added additional benefits to their substitute recruitment incentive program. Earlier this year Jefferson County raised the pay for subs. Thursday morning the board voted to reimburse substitute teachers for the (a) $30.00 fee to obtain an Alabama Substitute License and the (b) $48.15 for the required fingerprint screening.

The cost will be split between the school district and Kelly Education.

This is for any substitute hired between November 16, 2020 and April 1, 2021.

Substitutes will be required to work at least 10 days for the Jefferson County Board of Education during the 2020-2021 school year to receive the reimbursement.
